• "That further, he has continued, since that date, to refuse to carry out the orders to him by the Officer Administering the Government respecting the performance of Postmortem examinations during the illness of Dr. Marques.
That he is hereby informed that on Friday next, the 26th instant, the Officer Administering the Government will bring before the Executive Council the question, whether he should be suspended, or otherwise dealt with in accordance with articles 85 and 89 of the Colonial Regulations (Edition 1886).
"That he is required to send before 4p.m. on Thursday next, the 25th instant any further defence in writing which he wishes to make, and is allowed, if he chooses, to appear before the said Council, and defend himself orally.
